The year was 2009, Beyoncé dropped Single Ladies and nothing was the same since! Seriously, 2009 was the year that I properly got into music and many legendary events occurred that year. For example, Lady Gaga released Just Dance, Poker Face and Love Games, songs that I believe very much changed my brain chemistry. That year had some great R&B songs from artists like Mario, Jordan Sparks, Jamie Foxx, Jay Sean and more. 2009 was a year when R&B was still fairly mainstream so, take a trip down memory lane by listening to some of our favourite R&B songs from 2009:
